After they addressed their chronic starting pitching deficiency last winter by trading for âBig Gameâ James Shields and Ervin Santana and signing Jeremy Guthrie, this was supposed to be the year the Royals finally made it back to the postseason after a 28-year drought. Instead, the offense (11th in the league in runs) has sputtered and Yostâs managing on a number of occasions has come under question.
