Adding to the venue, the history, and the fans, the track itself is unique. The only figure-of-eight circuit on the calendar, there are few greater tests of a driver than the left-right-left-right-left Esses in the first sector, or the double left-handed spoon curve. Sadly, 130R is not the challenge it once represented for the cars and drivers in the late 1980s and early 1990s, as today's car simply have too much downforce to require lifting on a qualifying lap.
